These graduates are demanded in the information and library market in government, private and non-governmental organizations, libraries, media houses and information and documentation centers. The programme is available in the College of Natural and Applied Science (CoNAS) under the Department of Informatics and Information Technology (DIIT). It is delivered on a full-time basis for a minimum duration of 2 years.<\/p>\n<h4 align=\"justify\"><span id=\"Expected_Learning_Outcomes\"><span style=\"color: #008000\">Expected Learning Outcomes<\/span><\/span><\/h4>\n<p>By the end programme, students should be able to:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Demonstrate understanding of key concepts, principles and theories in information and library<\/li>\n<li>Exhibit the ability to manage small and medium-sized libraries and documentation and information centres.<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrate the ability to use ICT applications in managing and providing information and library services<\/li>\n<li>Show awareness of contemporary and emerging issues in information and library science.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Join and learn to manage the knowledge centres in actual and virtual context.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"western\" align=\"justify\"><span id=\"Career_Opportunities\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;color: #008000\">Career Opportunities<\/span><\/span><\/h4>\n<p class=\"western\" align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Graduates of this diploma programme work as records managers, knowledge managers, science communicators, archivists, librarians and information managers. They will also work as information brokers, content writers and editors, trainers in the information science field, researchers in the field and social media analysts. Prospective employees include libraries, archives, records centres, registries, news houses, publishers and other content developers.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4 align=\"justify\"><span id=\"Admission_Requirements\"><span style=\"color: #008000\">Admission Requirements<\/span><\/span><\/h4>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"color: #1e1e1e;font-family: georgia, palatino, serif\"><span style=\"font-size: medium\">Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education with at least one Principal Pass in one of the following: Mathematics, Physics, Biology, Chemistry, Science and Practice of Agriculture, Geography, Economics, Commerce, History, English, French and Kiswahili OR Certificate in Librarianship\/ or other relevant disciplines with a minimum of 2nd class and Ordinary Certificate of Secondary Education passes in at least 4 subjects.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<h4 align=\"justify\"><span id=\"Fees\"><span style=\"color: #008000\">Fees<\/span><\/span><\/h4>\n<div
