Academic Background

Dr. George William Kibirige is a lecture in the Department of Informatics and Information
Technology at Sokoine University of Agriculture in Tanzania. He received the BSc in
Information Communication and Technology Management from Mzumbe University,
Tanzania, MSc in Computer Science (Information Security) from University of Technology
Malaysia, Malaysia and the Ph.D in Computer Science (Data Science and AI) from National
Chengchi University in collaboration with Academia Sinica, Taiwan.

Teaching Subjects and Research Interests

For nearly 11 years Dr. Kibirige has been administering university courses in areas of
Information Security, Database Systems and Computer Applications.
His main research interests lie in Big Data Analysis, Artificial Intelligence and Machine
Learning, Information Security and ICT4D. His Ph.D. thesis explores the use of Artificial
Intelligence with long term transportation of remote pollutants dataset to improve local
prediction of PM2.5.
