Ms. Jonathan

Ms. Joan is involved in teaching undergraduate courses which include: Management of Information Systems, Information Storage and Retrieval, Knowledge Management, Database Implementation, and Management, and Basics in Digital Circuitry.

 Her research interest is Data science, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning, Big Data Analytics, Data Mining, and Computer Vision for Prediction, Diagnosis, and Detection of Diseases, ICT4D in Healthcare, Education and Agriculture for Developing Countries, Digital Transformation.

1. Principal Investigator (PI) of the SUA Research and Innovation Support (SUARIS) 1st phase titled “Prediction of Diagnostic Accuracy using Big Data Analytics and Visualizations from Trained African Giant Pouched Rats for Tuberculosis Detection at SUA APOPO” funded by SUA (2021-2023).
2. Co-Principal Investigator of the project titled “Digital Literacy and Misinformation among Smallholder Farmers in Tanzania” funded by Facebook Foundational Integrity Research (2020-2023).
3. Co-Principal Investigator of the SUA Research and Innovation Support (SUARIS) 2nd phase titled “An Integrated Machine Learning Internet of Things (IoT) –Adaptive Smart Cloud Farming System for Small-Scale Farmers in Tanzania” funded by SUA (2022-2024).

She has co-authored several journal articles and conference proceeding in Data science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and ICT for Development (ICT4D) as seen on her Google Scholar, ResearchGate and ORCID profiles.
