Academic Profile

Theofrida J. Maginga is an assistant lecturer at Sokoine University of Agriculture and a PhD student at University of Rwanda under the African Center of Excellence in Internet of Things. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology from Tumaini Makumira University and also a Master Degree in Information Communication Science and Engineering from Nelson Mandela African Institution of Science and Technology.

Teaching Subjects and Research Interests

Teaching interest is focused on Information and Communication Technology and specifically Software development and management, application development, website development dynamic and static websites using various languages such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JAVA, PHP and XML, PYTHON, DJANGO.

Research Interest is on Climate risk database management and geospatial data management. Developing machine learning predictive models, designing, and implementing IoT embedded computing systems, and Natural language processing specifically in Agriculture.

Research Projects

Geospatial and ICT capacities in Tanzanian Higher Education Institutions (Geo-ICT) as a researcher and Resilience academy as an ICT expert.

Awards

Award recipient from NEXT EINSTEIN FORUM Tanzania for the year 2019 as an Upcoming Woman in STEM for her contribution in the field of Technological Innovation.
