SmartTB Project

Project Description

Prediction of Diagnostic Accuracy using Big Data Analytics and Visualizations from Trained African Giant Pouched Rats for Tuberculosis Detection at SUA APOPO (SmartTB) is a SUA Research and Innovation Support (SUARIS) 1st phase project hosted at the Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA). This project is funded by Sokoine University of Agriculture and collaborates with the APOPO Rodent Project stationed at the Sokoine University of Agriculture in Morogoro, Tanzania.

Project Scope and Duration

The overall aim of this research project is to use Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies to predict patterns associated with a diagnostic accuracy of the rats. The goal is to provide a deeper understanding of the main patterns influencing diagnostic accuracy as well support decision making, improving human health, and scaling up of the diagnostic technology

Project Dates: June 2021 – May 2023.
